Pricing
Priced by access, not by the tub.
Two identical spas can differ by several hundred dollars depending entirely on what sits between them and the truck. These are typical Denver ranges to help you plan; the removal company we connect you with confirms your price.
Ranges
Typical Denver-area pricing
| Situation | Typical price | Time on site |
|---|---|---|
| Ground level, double gate or open yard | $350 – $500 | 2 – 3 hours |
| Standard gate (~3 ft), side yard route | $400 – $600 | 2 – 4 hours |
| Narrow access (~2 ft) or exterior stairs | $450 – $650 | 3 – 5 hours |
| Built into a deck | $600 – $900 | Most of a day |
| Swim spa (any access) | $700 – $1,400 | Most of a day |
| Second-storey patio, crane or lift required | Quoted on site | Varies |
| Concrete pad breakup and removal | Priced per ton | Added visit |
What a typical price includes
- On-site draining if the tub is still full
- Electrical disconnection at the tub end
- Cutting the shell down to sections that fit your route
- Protection laid on finished surfaces along the route
- Removal of every component — shell, frame, cover, steps, motor, pump, heater, cabinet
- Metal recycling and transfer-station disposal fees
- Sweeping the pad afterwards
What pushes the price up
- Narrow access. Smaller sections mean more cuts and more trips.
- Decking. Boards have to come up, and go back or go away.
- Elevation. Anything above ground level adds labour, and sometimes equipment.
- Still full. Draining on site is an hour or two of the visit.
- Swim spas. Substantially larger and heavier than a standard tub.
- Long carry. A tub 80 feet from where a truck can park is a different job from one at 15.
What usually doesn't change the price
- Which metro city you're in
- The brand or age of the tub
- Whether it still works
- Whether the cover is in one piece
When a crane is needed
Rarely, but it happens: rooftop terraces, second-storey balconies, courtyards with no through-route. In those cases the crane is a separate subcontracted cost. Ask for it to be quoted as its own line, not buried in the total.
Getting an accurate number without a site visit
Two photos usually do it: one of the tub, one standing at your gate looking toward it. That second photo is the one that matters, because it shows the route. Have them ready when the removal company contacts you and they can usually give you a firm price rather than a range.
